                                        Worthy's Lacey
OFA Prelim at 15 months:  Fair hips and normal elbows.

(Lacey is now owned by Klatolklin K9, Tok, Alaska.  We have retained her litter sister, Lady
Circe.)

SG Athos v.h. Sevens SchH3, GHP3, KKL1 for life, Belgium Regional Shutzhund champion 2004
and 2005, ETC, Hips A-2. (Imported from Belgium by Worthy Kennels)

Leefdaalhof Hips HD/A (Belgium import)

Sweet dog, taller and bigger boned than her litter sister Circe who is my training buddy.
Social with people and dogs.  Affectionate.  Not in training...I can't work them all :-(  Circe's
prey drive is somewhat higher and therefore, easier for me to train with my bad knees.
(Sadly, I need a dog to motivate me, instead of me motivating the dog.)

Lacey will be bred in the Spring of 2010.  I have found that females who are not bred when
young--not bred until they are three or four years of age or older-- often do not conceive at
all or do not produce well.  Nature favors the younger female.
 See Arwin on the Females
Page for an example of a great dog who is probably barren because I tried too late to breed
her.

 Picture coming soon!

From the official website of the OFA:  http://offa.org/hipprelim.html

According to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA), a dog whose preliminary xray evaluation
done between 13-18 month of age was between 95.2% reliable when compared to an OFA evaluation
done at two years  of age.

A recent publication compared the reliability of the preliminary evaluation hip grade phenotype with the
2 year old evaluation in dogs and there was 100% reliability for a preliminary grade of excellent being
normal at 2 years of age (excellent, good, or fair). For normal hip conformations, the reliability was 89.6%
at 3-6 months, 93.8% at 7-12 months, and 95.2% at 13-18 months. These results suggest that preliminary
evaluations of hip joint status in dogs are generally reliable.
